In Observance of the Juneteenth Holiday City offices will be closed on Friday, June 18, 2021. There will be no Sanitation collections for Residential and Commercial Customers on Friday, June 18, 2021. Please do not place roll out carts or curbside debris on city right of ways for collections on this date. Downtown Business District of Front Street is not affected and will receive Garbage Collections. Sanitation collections will resume its regular scheduled services beginning Monday, June 21, 2021.

Beginning July 1 , 2021, the City of Georgetown will resume charging a service fee of 2.75% of your payment for Utility related transactions. All other transactions (Business License, Permits, etc) will have a service fee of 2.95%. This fee will be added to all credit or debit card transactions. The fees will go directly to our processing company for their services. Please note: To avoid service fees the City of Georgetown has a Bank Draft Program.

Harborwalk Boardwalk Maintenance

The City of Georgetown has contracted services to pressure wash the Harborwalk Boardwalk areas. This consist of deck & railing cleaning along Harborwalk and City park entrance areas. Railings that are part of private property will not be part of this cleaning. The City advises that property owners be aware of this cleaning taking place to protect private property, including boats on private docks.
Weather permitting, work will be as follows:
Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.;
Monday, May 24, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.;
Services should be completed by Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
Contractors may have portions of Harborwalk areas closed to the Public during these times. Should you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the City Public Works Department at (843) 545-4700.

The City of Georgetown announced today that it will close the Orange St. parking lot on May 20, 2021, to complete paving repairs where asphalt cuts were made due to stormwater and electrical work performed. These repairs are scheduled for Thursday morning and it should take one day to complete the work. Notices have been placed on the parking lot informing motorists. The City will block off the parking lot early Thursday.

Georgetown, SC, May 13, 2021 – The City of Georgetown announced today that Front Street will be closed from Fraser to Dozier streets beginning on Friday, May 14th, 9:00 AM until Monday, May 17th in the afternoon. The Water Utility Department will begin pumping down the pond on Friday through the weekend in preparation for the re-installation of the repaired stormwater pump at the old City Hall pond site on Monday, May 17th.

 

Motorists are encouraged to drive safely around this area.
